Description
        Evolvulus nummularius (L.) L. Prostrate herb; stem rooting at lower node, slender, sericeous. Leaves alternate, ovate-orbicular, 07 - 09 x 08 - 13 mm, cordate at base, entire at margin, obtuse-retuse at apex, glabrescent, central nerves hairy beneath; 4-pairs beneath; petiole, up to 04 mm long, hairy. Flowers ca. 07 mm across, white, solitary, axillary, 1 - 3-flowered; pedicel 02 mm long. Calyx-lobe 5, imbricate, lobe oblong 3.2 mm long, ciliate at margin, shortely apiculate at apex. Corolla funnalform-rotate, tube 04 mm long; limp emarginate, white hairy upper furface. Stamens 5; filament filiform, 02 mm long; anther oblong-sagittate, 0.5 mm long. Ovary ovoid, 4-lobed, 01 mm across, glabrous; 4-locule; ovules 4; style 2, branching distinct, filiform, 4.5 mm long, glabrous; stigma minute, sessile. Capsules globose, 4-valved, 03 mm across, shorter than calyx; seeds 2 - 4. rarely 3, ovoid, slightly, triqutrous, minutely tuberculate, pinkish often brown.
