Description
        Heliotropium zeylanicum (Burm.f.) Lam. Perennial herb, up to 30 high; stem glabrescent. Leaves alternate, 1 - 1.8 x 0.1 - 0.2 cm, linear-lanceolate, cuneate, subrounded at base, recurved at margin, acute-obtuse at apex, appressed-strigose; nerves obscure; petiole 1 mm long. Racemes axillary or terminal, up to 20 cm long. bract linear. Flowers ca. 2 mm, white; tube yellow; pedicel 01 mm long. Calyx 5-lobed, lobe elliptic, 01 mm long, appressed-strigose below, ciliate at margin, mucronate at apex. Corolla-lobe 5, tube 1.1 mm long, lobe ovate, 01 mm long. Stamens 5; anther 0.5 mm, ovate-elliptic, cordate.Ovary globose, 0.8 mm long; 4-loculed; ovules 4; style terminal short, 0.2 mm long; stigma minuate. Nuts obovate-globose, 02 mm across, sparsely hirsute; seeds 4, scanty.
